"Blind Ambition"
WATERFOWL

It was back in the early 80s when we at Patagonia Outfitters realized the opportunity there was for organizing quality wingshooting operations for the international sportsman. It was our very fly-fishing clients who insisted on the idea of applying our outfitting experience onto wing shooting. That was the beginning of a sequence that made Patagonia Outfitters pioneer what later became some of the best-known shooting areas in Argentina. Over the years we have successfully discovered, pioneered and operated dove shooting in Córdoba, goose and quail shooting in the valleys of San Martín de los Andes and Viedma, and perdiz and duck shooting in Corrientes, Entre Ríos, Santa Fe and Buenos Aires province

Things change as years go by and Patagonia Outfitters has evolved into more sophisticated shooting operations specializing in waterfowling.

Over the last several years we have found some of the highest quality duck shooting there can be found in Argentina today and we have developed our latest duck-shooting program which we call Blind Ambition.

Blind Ambition duck hunting program

This  flatter country a short distance away from Argentina's  capital city  where weather is milder and more pleasant than that found in areas further north will remind you of the great plains, reminiscent of the Dakotas, with mile after mile of potholes, grain fields and marshes where various species of ducks thrive and migrate to year after year.

You will find majestic Rosy-billed pochards cruising through the skies decoying into the marshes and potholes, but the most predominant duck, and maybe the star of the show, may very well be the yellow-billed pintail that will respond to calling and will lock its wings and dive into decoy spreads readily every time.

There's also the trikingly attractive red shoveler,  and the predominant super ultra fast speckled teal , all of which fly hard and  low darting through the breeze into the decoys. Whistling ducks are also very abundant among others.

Working from top of the line estancia accommodation, just three to four hours drive from Argentina's international airport,  Blind Ambition has secured prime time shooting at several ranches and farms in the hunting areas.

Duck hunting in Argentina: a top quality experience
Our outstandingly elegant estancia house offers superb accommodations and five-star international cuisine, you'll be with Jorge Trucco and his guides and you'll enjoy delicious gourmet meals and fine wines served by the friendly estancia staff.

Typically our daily schedule includes a wholesome breakfast at the Estancia lodge, followed by a morning over decoys. After a late-morning end, you'll return to the ranch for lunch and a well-deserved siesta. Then more afternoon out shooting until dark. Dinner finally caps off a perfect day.

As hunting aesthetics are an important principle in our operation, we would like to emphasize the fact that Blind Ambition is committed to making great strides with dry-permanent-blinds, specie-specific decoys, duck calls and other important additions to the daily hunts in order to make this a top quality experience. All duck shooting is from dry-permanent- blinds. However we strongly recommend bringing chest-waders since more than once you'll need to walk in water in order to get to the blinds.
